Prohibited & restricted items
Some of this is the law and some of it is common sense about what survives a four-hour bus journey. Either way we would rather tell you at booking than have a rider refuse the parcel at your door.
Never accepted
- Cash, currency and bullion
- Including gold, silver, precious stones and negotiable instruments.
- Weapons and ammunition
- Firearms, parts, ammunition, explosives, fireworks and crackers.
- Narcotics and controlled substances
- Including anything prohibited under the NDPS Act.
- Flammable and hazardous goods
- Petrol, kerosene, LPG cylinders, solvents, paints, industrial chemicals, corrosives.
- Live animals and birds
- Of any kind, under any packaging.
- Human remains, body parts and biological samples
- Except diagnostic samples booked under a specific medical-logistics agreement.
- Counterfeit and smuggled goods
- Including goods without lawful documentation where documentation is required.
- Obscene or prohibited publications
- Anything whose carriage is an offence.
- Alcohol and tobacco
- Bihar is a prohibition state; alcohol is not carried under any circumstances.
Accepted, with conditions
- High-value goods
- Declare the value at booking so it is covered. Undeclared value is not covered beyond ₹5,000.
- Electronics
- Accepted. Pack in the original box where possible and declare the value.
- Medicines
- Accepted. Prescription drugs must be lawfully supplied; temperature-sensitive items need a cold-chain agreement.
- Perishable food
- Only on routes under about four hours, properly sealed. We will tell you at booking if your route does not qualify.
- Fragile items
- Accepted. Declare as fragile at booking so they are handled and photographed separately.
- Documents of title
- Accepted, but tell us — original property papers and similar go on a direct trip with priority handling.
- Batteries and power banks
- Lithium cells only when installed in a device, never loose.
- Oversized items
- Above 50 kg or unusually bulky items move as freight rather than parcel. Talk to us first.
How this is enforced
The booking flow blocks prohibited categories before you pay, with a plain-language reason. Riders verify the parcel against what you declared at pickup, and may open a parcel where there is reasonable suspicion or where law requires it.
If a prohibited item is discovered after pickup, the shipment is held, you are informed, and the item is returned at your cost or handed to the relevant authority where the law requires that. Charges already paid are not refunded in that case, and you remain responsible for any penalty, loss or damage caused to us or to other consignments.
Packing is your responsibility
We handle parcels carefully and photograph their condition at pickup, at handover and at delivery — but we cannot make up for inadequate packing. Use a rigid box for anything fragile, cushion the contents, seal it properly, and write the destination on the parcel itself as well as on the label.
